Testimonials
Here’s what my students are saying:
I recently attended a workshop with Sheila and was hooked. I’m excited to learn more from this lady, so I’ve chosen to enroll in Shutterbugs! I like the calm and natural learning style that Sheila presents. As a visual learner, I liked how Sheila was able to demonstrate concepts, and others on the call agreed that her slides for the technical stuff helped us all. A great, safe learning environment where no question is silly, even if you feel like it is!
I’ve taken a few photography classes and sometimes the material can go over my head as a beginner. Sheila has a special knack of communicating complex photography tips in a way that makes them click for me. She delivers material in a approachable way, with humor, patience and passion. I highly recommend her classes and can say that my photography has improved because of her!
I attended a photography workshop facilitated by Sheila. Even though I was beyond amateur, Sheila explained the content of the workshop so eloquently and in simple terms which I found easy to understand. I was inspired to keep taking photos and have learnt some simple techniques that have improved the quality of my photos.

Why should you master manual mode?
Because once you do, you’ll be able to take the photos your camera doesn’t know how to.
Doors close soon – grab your spot!
Ready to conquer your camera fears?
Of course you are.
Meet your instructor
Hey there, I’m Sheila!
In my 8 years as a photographer, I’ve gotten to do some pretty cool work – from underground fashion shows to a safari photo campaign in Tanzania. I now focus on wildlife & landscape photography, selling prints of my work with a portion of proceeds benefitting conservation organizations.
I’m self-taught, which means I took the long route and know how frustrating that can be. And I’m not a world-famous pro photographer, so you can feel comfortable learning from someone who was in your shoes not that long ago 🙂
I love geeking out over photography and sharing my experiences, so I’m here to help you take some shortcuts as you improve your skillset and develop your own passion for it.

Who would benefit from this course?
I’ve designed this course to be what I wish I had when I first started learning DSLR photography. Anyone who is just beginning to learn their way around a DSLR or mirrorless camera will gain the most, but those who are still not fully confident in using manual mode will also have a safe space to practice here.
Do I need to have a camera?
Ideally, yes. We’ll have action practices and homework assignments designed to get you out and applying what you learn each week – we want practical skills, not more theory!
If you don’t have a camera yet but are eager to learn, these resources will be yours to keep for whenever you’re ready. Or, you can subscribe to my mailing list (see below) to be notified the next time I run my programs & workshops.
I have more questions – how can I reach you?
